What is Counselling?

Therapy can provide a safe and confidential space for you to discuss any issues, concerns or personal feelings. You can explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours with your therapist and work collaboratively to develop a better understanding of yourself and those around you.

Most therapy is planned in regular sessions, between 50-60 minutes. How often sessions are and how long you see your therapist for will depend on your own circumstances and what is agreed between you and your counsellor.

A therapist will be impartial, but understanding and empathic. They will listen to what you have to say without judgement, offering information and reflections without telling you what you should think or feel.
